Barcelona Bridal Fashion Workweek brings together the bridal fashion sector in a solidarity gala
After the cancellation of its last edition due to the situation of the coronavirus crisis, the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week returns, which under the slogan "The new beginning" will once again bring together the leading brands in the fashion sector bridal service to support this leading industry in the country, which has suffered especially from the restrictions associated with the celebration of weddings.
In addition, this year the gala will have a solidarity
purpose in support of the “Stop Child Marriage” project against child marriage
of the NGO Save the Children, an entity with which the organization of the
event has collaborated since 2020. “In this context, they will carry out
various initiatives to inform and sensitize professionals in the bridal sector
so that they have the opportunity to actively support this project ”, they
share from the charitable foundation on their website. Anyone who so wishes can
make a donation through the show's website.
A reunion between professionals and friends
Estermaria Laruccia, director of BBFW, affirms that “the
reactivation of the market has returned after a very difficult period and we
want to celebrate it with an event that aims to be above all a tribute to the
industry, a reunion between professionals and friends, and an opportunity to
return to turn on the spotlights on bridal fashion to give international
visibility to brands and boost business. Another very important objective -
adds Laruccia - is to support the fight against child marriage and the effort
to achieve the empowerment of girls and women around the world ”.
Designers, professionals, media and international
influencers will participate in this event, on whose catwalk will present some
of their designs recognized firms in the sector such as Pronovias Group, with
its firms Pronovias, House of St Patrick and Nicole Milano, the Spanish Jesús
Peiró, Yolancris, Isabel Sanchis, Sophie et Voilà, Ramón Sanjurjo, Marco and
María, Lorena Panea, Olga Macià, Carla Ruiz and Cristina Tamborero; the
Italians Antonio Riva, Amelia Casablanca and Carlo Pignatelli; the American
Justin Alexander, and the Malaysian The Atelier, which has designer Jimmy Choo
as creative director.
"As an entrepreneur in the sector, I consider the
holding of an event very significant that encourages us to continue promoting
business with the aim of accelerating the reactivation of the market and
recovering the illusion, which is a fundamental part of the world of bridal
fashion," he shares in its statement Jesús Díez Betriu, president of
Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week and owner of the bridal firm Jesús Peiró.
