The hottest street style trends from Berlin Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2022

After fickle weather during the summer, the sun came out just in time for Berlin Fashion Week, finally allowing guests to show off their hot day looks at the many events and shows that took place in the European city.

In this article, from FashionUnited we have gathered the most striking street style trends in the German capital, captured by photographer Nick Leuze for FashionUnited.

Imposing hats and platform shoes

Not only is a wide-brimmed hat a great help in protecting yourself from the sun, it also makes a statement. Depending on the style and outfit, matching hats come in a wide range of options - the choice of shape, color, size, and material seems limitless.

Lace bonnet caps complement the delicate pastel ensembles for a minimalist look with the same skill as the bright black padded beanies. But it's not just a wide-brimmed hat that really adds the finishing touch to a sparkly ensemble, platform shoes also put the right accent, from plush to pistachio green finishes.

In men's fashion the trend is skirts

Like fashion as a whole, men's clothing keeps changing and, in some cases, becomes more androgynous. One of the latest trends for men is wearing skirts, and not just like Irish kilts. Stars like Harry Styles and actor Jaden Smith are leading the way and some followers of the trend were also spotted in Berlin.

The skirts were seen with different lengths, reaching from the ankles to above the knee. The pleats were also striking, sometimes pale pink or discreet black.

Lightweight sleeveless coats

Despite the sunny weather, the Berlin public was skeptical about how long the heat would stay, so many supplemented their looks with a light coat or a sleeveless version. From blazer-type coats to workwear- type coats , it was all there.

Colors everywhere

Although some stuck to the classic black-on-black dress code, many did not let the color go away at Berlin Fashion Week. Some opted for looks with bold colors and bold contrasts, while others preferred quiet transitions between pastel hues and elegant heels.
